A 25-character product key for a 12-month Microsoft 365 subscription. Personal and Family keys attach to a Microsoft account; a Business key activates or extends a Microsoft 365 business subscription for an organization.
Step by step
You need the code from your order email.
Microsoft 365 Personal or Family Web
- Go to microsoft365.com/setup and sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Enter the 25-character product key.
- Select your country or region and your language.
- Follow the prompts to finish. If you already have a subscription, the time is added to it.
Microsoft 365 Business, new subscription Web
- Go to microsoft365.com/setupbusiness, enter the product key and select Next.
- Enter your name, work email address, business phone number, company name and country/region, then select Next.
- Enter a phone number to get a text or call that verifies your identity.
- Choose a domain option and finish in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Microsoft 365 Business, extend an existing subscription Admin center
- In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Billing > Your products and select the subscription.
- Under Subscription and payment settings, select Extend end date.
- Select Use a new and unused product key, then Next.
- Enter the key, select Next, review the order and select Redeem.

Can I add several keys to the same account?
Yes. Each key adds time to the subscription, up to a maximum of 5 years. Stacking does not add more installations or more storage.
I have Personal. What happens if I redeem a Family key?
Your subscription switches to Family and the remaining Personal time is converted and added. When moving to a plan with more features, the converted time can be shorter than what you had left.
Do family members also get Copilot?
No. Microsoft says the AI benefits of Personal and Family belong to the subscription owner and cannot be shared.
How many devices can I use?
Each person can install the apps on all their devices and be signed in on up to five devices at the same time.
Do I need to reinstall Office after redeeming or switching plans?
No. Redeeming a key or switching between Personal and Family does not affect the apps you already installed.
What if the code doesn't work?
Check that your account is set to the right country and that you entered the code exactly. If it still fails, contact us with your order number and a screenshot of the message.
