A gift code that adds a fixed period of Nitro or Nitro Basic, Discord's paid plans, to your Discord account. It gives plan time, not a money balance.
Step by step
You need the code from your order email.
From a gift link Web browser
- Open the gift link in a web browser.
- Log in to your Discord account, or register a new one.
- Check that it is the right account, then press I accept.
- Discord opens the Subscriptions tab in User Settings with the gift active.
From a code Desktop app or browser
- Open Discord on desktop or in a browser and select the cogwheel next to your username to open User Settings.
- Go to Gift Inventory.
- Enter the code in the redeem field and confirm.

I already have Nitro. What happens if I redeem a gift?
The gift becomes Subscription Credit on your account. If it matches your current plan, it is used at your next renewal and you are billed zero. If it does not match, it waits until you subscribe to the matching plan.
Can I use a 12-month code while on monthly Nitro?
Credit only applies to an exact match in type and length: Nitro to Nitro, Nitro Basic to Nitro Basic, monthly to monthly, yearly to yearly. A 12-month Nitro credit is used once you have a yearly Nitro subscription.
Can I redeem it in the mobile app?
Discord asks you to claim gifts on the desktop app or in a web browser. After that, the perks work on your phone too.
What is the difference between Nitro and Nitro Basic?
Nitro Basic covers custom emoji and stickers, Super Reactions, 50 MB uploads, custom video backgrounds, a badge and app icons. Nitro adds 500 MB uploads, HD streaming, 2 Server Boosts, profile customization and more.
I claimed it on the wrong account. Can Discord move it?
No. Discord cannot transfer a claimed gift or issue a new code.
What if the code doesn't work?
Check that your account is set to the right country and that you entered the code exactly. If it still fails, contact us with your order number and a screenshot of the message.
