A claim code that adds gift card balance to an Amazon account on one country's Amazon store, in that store's currency. You spend it on eligible items sold on that same store.
Step by step
You need the code from your order email.
On the website Web
- Sign in on the Amazon store that matches the card, for example amazon.de for a German card.
- Open the Redeem a Gift Card page (/gc/redeem on that store's domain).
- Enter the claim code; dashes are not needed.
- Select Apply to Your Balance.
In the Amazon app App
- Open the Amazon app and check that you are signed in to the right account.
- Go to Your Account and, under Payment, select Manage gift card balance.
- Select Redeem another Gift Card and enter or scan the code.
At checkout Checkout
- Add items to your basket and go to checkout.
- In the payment step, open the field for gift cards or promotional codes.
- Enter the claim code and select Apply.

Can I use a UK Amazon card on amazon.com or amazon.de?
No. Each card only works on the Amazon store that issued it, in that store's currency. Buy the card for the store where you shop.
Can I buy other gift cards with my balance?
No. Amazon does not allow gift card balance to pay for other gift cards.
Can I save my balance for later?
Yes. Amazon applies your balance to the next eligible order by default, but you can turn it off at checkout to keep it for another time.
Amazon says my code was already redeemed. What happened?
Check the Gift Card balance page in Your Account; the funds may already be there. If someone else had the code, it may be on their account, and Amazon cannot move redeemed balance between accounts.
Where can I see when my balance expires?
On stores with a 10-year limit, such as amazon.de, the Gift Card balance page shows the expiry date of each card you have added.
What if the code doesn't work?
Check that your account is set to the right country and that you entered the code exactly. If it still fails, contact us with your order number and a screenshot of the message.
