#### Which country do I need?

The card is in US dollars and works only in the United States. To redeem it you must be in the US and use a ChatGPT account billed in US dollars. If you are traveling abroad, you may have to return to the US before you can redeem.

### How to redeem a ChatGPT code

#### On the web Personal account

- Go to chatgpt.com/redeem in a web browser.
- Sign in to the ChatGPT account that should get the balance, or sign up for one.
- Enter the gift card PIN and confirm the redemption.
- Open Settings > Billing and check your Wallet balance (if available).

#### On the web Business workspace

- Sign in on chatgpt.com/redeem as the owner of the Business workspace. The workspace must already exist.
- Make sure the right workspace is selected before you go on.
- Enter the gift card PIN and confirm.
- Check the balance in Workspace settings > Billing.

### ChatGPT questions

#### Can I use a US ChatGPT gift card outside the United States?

No. You must be in the US and use a ChatGPT account billed in US dollars to redeem it, and a USD balance does not pay for purchases billed in another currency.

#### Can I pay for ChatGPT Plus in the iPhone or Android app with a gift card?

No. The balance cannot pay for subscriptions billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. To use it, cancel the app store subscription, wait until it ends, then subscribe on ChatGPT web with the same account.

#### Does redeeming a ChatGPT gift card start a subscription?

No. Redeeming only adds money to your wallet balance. You then choose a plan on ChatGPT web, and the balance is applied at checkout.

#### Can I split a ChatGPT gift card between two accounts?

No. The full value goes to one account, and after redemption it cannot be moved, shared or withdrawn as cash.

#### Do ChatGPT gift cards expire?

No. OpenAI states the gift card does not expire, and the card terms list no fees against the balance.
